Dodgers Notes From Tuesday's Game 5/25/2010

Chicago 3, Dodgers 0

Box Score.

My post from Monday on Kershaw, walks, baseball history past and present, and stats. Probably the piece I'm most proud of since I started the blog. Give it a read and tell me what you think of it. Those 8 comments are lonely, they'd really appreciate some company. Hell, they're even willing to just talk and cuddle the night away. And breakfast in the morning is all but guaranteed. Maybe even a ride to work if you play your cards right.
  • Clayton Kershaw went 6 very good innings (1 Run [0 ER], 4 Hits, 4 K, 2 BB, 104 pitches - 70 for strikes). The Dodger defense and offense really let him down.
  • Bullpen: 2 IP, 2 Runs [1 ER], 2 Hits, 1 K, 0 BB, 1 HR Allowed.
  • Rafael Furcal has returned! After his DL stint with a strained left hamstring, he was back in the lineup for the first time since April, with George Sherrill taking his place on the 15-day DL with an illness they call sucks the living daylight out of a game-itis. The veterans survive another round on the Dodger DFA carousel.
  • Russell Martin stole his 3rd base of the season.
  • Manny Ramirez was the only Dodger to reach base more than once, singling and drawing a walk.
  • The offense struck out 9 times, walked just once, and, coming off of a game with no XBHs, had 0 extra-base hits in this affair.
  • The defense committed 3 errors, all from the middle infielders (2 from the returning Raffy).
  • It's never a good thing when you have the same number of errors as hits.

  2. Thank you. I aim to please and I always try my best.

On another note, 2 straight games without an extra-base hit is atrocious.
