The Bison, Resurgent.

File this one under "I told you so." Matt Kemp is healthier than he's been in years, he's tinkered with his batting stance, and he's still an exceptionally talented dude. It was just a matter of time until he hit; he hit the ball pretty damn well when he was marginally healthy in 2012 and 2013. Since June 1st, he's mashing to the tune of .308/.377/.504/.881 with a .384 wOBA and 151 wRC+. He's walking in over 10% of his 252 plate appearances and has 23 XBHs to go along with a .196 ISO.

Translation: Matt Kemp is still a really, really dangerous hitter. Which made it all the more fantastic to win the above beaut, #'d 33/99, in the midst of what would become a 5 homers in 6 days stretch from late July into early August. It hails from 2012 Topps Tier One and was a real bargain at just $11.60 delivered. It's my newest Mattycakes' hit, I absolutely love it, and I'm thrilled to finally own it.

  1. It's not hard to agree that Kemp has a killer signature and this on-card auto bat-relic beauty is worth 3x that cost.

That it just so happens to be a mathematically pleasing "33/99" as well is just more added bonus.

    Phenomenal cardboard pick up, Plasch-man.
