Piece By Piece, Getz By Getz.

Though I haven't showcased it recently I still adore 2010-2011 Panini Dominion and take any chance I get to add Ryan Getzlaf cards from that high-end release when the price allows. I came across a lot of three Getz Dominion cards some time ago, and when all was said and done, I took them home for roughly $6 shipped per hit.

These are some of the thickest and most ridiculously large slabs I've ever encountered. Of course, I didn't have to pay for them to be graded myself and the price was too good to pass them up, so they'll fit in just fine with the rest of my Captain Getzlaf Collection. Also, each card is housed within a penny sleeve-like protective layer inside of each slab, which is a nice touch on Beckett's part.

My favorite is a Nameplate patch numbered 06/25. As you can see, these just can't scan in as nicely as I would like because the cases are just so massive. Oddly enough, the threesome scan above does a better job than each individual one.

Here's a Jersey Number variation (01/25). Each card graded out a BGS 9.5. The seller originally had the lot up for ~$99, so the end price was that much sweeter.

Finally, a Prime two-color piece which also is numbered 06/25. There's a fourth version -- a patch limited to 10 copies in Getzy's case -- making the total number of Getz cards from the original release of Dominion that feature patches a cool 85. I'll never own them all (I now have 19) and once I realized that I didn't feel the need to buy each one I encountered. Although, of course, I certainly still wanted to.

  1. Perfection, the whole lot of 'em.

    That 6/25 is the one!

Great cards, O Master of Thy Swatch.
