Dodgers Notes From Sunday's Game 6/20/2010

Boston 2, Dodgers 0

Box Score.
  • Hiroki Kuroda went 7 excellent innings (2 ER, 6 Hits, 9 K, 1 IBB, 1 Hit Batter, 2 WP, 117 pitches - 73 for strikes).
  • Bullpen: 1 IP, 0 Runs, 1 Hit, 2 K, 1 IBB.
  • Manny Ramirez (2 Singles, BB) reached base 3 times and Blake DeWitt (Single, HBP) reached base twice, the only Dodgers to reach base more than once.
  • The offense struck out 6 times, drew 3 walks, and had 1 extra-base hit.
  • Rafael Furcal's father passed away today.
  • Carlos Monasterios hit the DL. He disagrees with the decision. This just gets better and better every day.
"It doesn't really affect me," he said. "It doesn't bother me to throw."
"I just have to respect the decision of the manager," he said. "Once I come off the DL, I hope to pitch as normal as I was. They want me to take care of it and make sure everything is healed."

    1. What a shitty weekend. I hate to say it, but Matt Kemp needs to get his shit together. He looks really bad right now. Not that there's any Dodger who's playing particularly well, but his crappiness stands out. He's so damn talented, it's tough to watch him play like this.

    2. Yeah, it's tough to watch, even the improved plate discipline eludes him at times now.

Though he did scorch the one ball.

And his BABIP is about 30 points lower than last year and 40 points lower than his career mark, so a correction should be coming.

Manny and DeWitt seem to have been the most consistent recently. And then of course DeWitt gets hurt.

      When it rains, it pours.
