When You Get Sniped on eBay, Snipe Back Significantly.

Ah, sniping. That age-old eBay art that pisses me off to no end when it's the same card over and over, especially one I've only ever seen twice. I came across a really rare Ryan Getzlaf autograph, and had the high-bid with just seconds remaining. The price had increased over the previous hour, but was still very reasonable. Then, as the final seconds ticked down, BAM! I got sniped. I was not a happy camper, and when I shortly thereafter came across the card below, I put in a bid I didn't expect to hold up, just in case.

I won with that bid, doing some sniping of my own. It didn't make up for losing the other card - which I've only seen twice and been sniped on twice, and by the same buyer, no less - but it made me feel a bit better in general. Numbered 45/50, it's a gold parallel, and though it's a sticker auto, none of Getz's John Hancock runs off of the sticker. I really like the design of this newest addition to my Captain Getz PC, as the background on the left side is somewhat reminiscent of a jersey, and the glass on the right behind Getzlaf appears to be frozen in Fringe-like amber. For just over $8 in PayPal funds I had lying around, I'll take it.

  1. One time I sent a message to a sniper (back when you could tell who was who) and the poor insecure bastard sent me three flame messages back insulting anything about me he could think of. I just told him "next time bid like a man"...?
