(Zack) Wheat Wednesday: 1912 Colgan's Chips Tin Tops, SGC 1 -- SUPER RARE!

This is perhaps the scarcest Zack Wheat item I have ever encountered, with the Felix Mendelsohn M101-6 issue a very close second place. PSA has zero in its POP report and SGC has the sole copy you will shortly see. I recall one selling on eBay some years back (ungraded, most likely) and I know a big Wheat guy has a raw one in his collection. But this absolutely gorgeous 1912 Colgan's Chips Tin Tops offering just never shows up so when it did through REA I knew I had to nab it lest another opportunity pass me by.

I ended up paying a pretty penny but I was willing to pay about double what I ended up shelling out for the newest addition to my Wheat PC. The card is plenty beat but well-loved vintage has always held a special place in my collecting heart.

The backs on these are super cool with the design to get all of that writing to fit. Patience eventually pays off in so many aspects of life....I wasn't sure I'd have the chance to own this and boom! It not only shows up but stays well below my threshold. That Felix piece will one day be mine.
