My First Vintage Hank Aaron Card

I think every collector should have a card of Hank Aaron from his playing days. I was fortunate enough to grab this from my local shop for a cool $3. Pretty good condition for a card from 1964, though I'm not enamored with the 1964 Topps set in general. Granted, my assessment is based solely on this card, but it's nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the 1965 Topps set.

Of course, I am biased in making that statement, as I'm basing that conclusion solely on this one card:

I digress. My original point stands: get yourself a Hank Aaron card. Because Hammerin' Hank was and is awesome. And anything vintage is worth getting.

  1. Congrats on the Aaron. I've done that with a couple old Yanks. You've inspired me to do the same with Aaron. I'm looking as we speak.

  3. I love vintage and I've found that often times League Leader cards, Playoff moment cards or All-Star cards can often be picked up for a reasonable price. I like it!

  4. Thanks Cameron!

The fact that it's a League Leaders card and the other guys are just that in this case - other guys - definitely was the reason I grabbed it for the price I was able to get it at.

  5. Nice Aaron... but that Drysdale/Koufax card is sweet! I definitely want one for my collection (and I can't stand the Dodgers... but that card is nothing short of awesome).

  6. Haha thanks Fuji! And you definitely have to grab that Koufax/Drysdale.

I think "nothing short of awesome" might be the most apt description of that card I've heard thus far.
