Making The Bigs: Ryan Getzlaf

A while back I landed a nice three-color relic of Ryan Getzlaf from '06-'07 In The Game Heroes & Prospects. It's the Silver Version, numbered out of 70. It was had for around 8 bucks, and is a most welcome addition to my Getz Collection.

What attracted me to the card was the combined three colors of the two sweater swatches. The red comes from a Portland Pirates' sweater - the Ducks' old AHL affiliate - while the white/eggplant comes from an old Mighty Ducks' sweater. Aside from the colorful swatches, my favorite aspect of the card is that The Captain's pictured in a Portland Pirates uniform with a Mighty Ducks patch on the shoulder.
