I've been fortunate to be one of the only major Russell Martin collectors out there since I reentered the hobby, and the only one in the blogging world that I've encountered. That even held true -- much to my delight -- when Russ signed with the New York Yankees. However, since his move to the Pittsburgh Pirates, I've had to contend with Pirates Treasure Room while being cognizant that Bob Walk the Plank could be lurking around any eBay corner.
But this time, the treasure is mine! Russ doesn't have a ton of Pirates' stuff out there, but as usual, what does exist features a great photo. Out of 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen, this 1/1 Black Printing Plate is a most welcome addition to my collection of the former Dodgers' backstop from the Great White North.
Ha! I usually leave the Martin's for you and the Charlie Morton's for Treasure Room. If one does come up that catches my fancy I'll try and contact you so we don't bid each other up. I haven't had much luck with eBay lately other than Gerrit Cole's.
ReplyDeleteI gotta say - that plate looks damn sweet in all it's black and whiteness.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Matt. I always try to leave the RussMarts for you. I'm happy with my 1/1 bat barrel and nearly completed Topps Chrome rainbow. I did see this though. Great grab!
