Trade With Nomo's Sushi Platter: Chase Utley's Autograph Is Mine!

I completed my third trade with fellow Dodgers fan Michael, from Nomo's Sushi Platter. You can find the first one here, and the second one here. Spiegel and I were e-mailing, and he told me he pulled a really sweet, shortprinted auto from a box he busted. I congratulated him on the awesome pull, and he asked if I'd be interested in the card. I was, and though I had nothing to exchange for it at the time, Mike, the gentleman he is, said he'd set it aside for me.

I proceeded to work tirelessly to find something to swap for it. With some eBay fortune, I found two Kurt Suzuki autos to send Mike's way. I also included a couple of Kershaws he didn't have and a ton of other Dodgers. You can see the Suzukis here.

So, my prize for all of that work? Behold, a beautiful auto from former UCLA Bruin and Dodger draft pick Chase Utley, which instantly becomes the centerpiece of my modest Utley PC.

17/35

I don't curse much - if at all - anymore in my writing on this here blog. But shit. That is one AMAZING card. Damn. So beautiful.

This bad boy is headed straight for a magnetic or screwdown. Just as soon as I get one.

Spiegel also sent along the final two cards I needed from the Dodgers portion of 2009 Topps Unique, a set I absolutely love.

Also included was a new Kershaw, always a welcome sight.

And last but certainly not least, a handful of Jackies!

In a funny turn of events, I actually met Spiegel in person at last night's Dodgers game. Also in attendance was the great DodgerBobble. It was a pleasure chatting with you two gentlemen. Again, we should.

Thanks for another fantastic trade Spiegel, and the wonderfully awesome Utley signature!

Do you like contests? I thought so. Jaybarkerfan's Junk is holding one right now! Tell him I sent you.

Or don't.

But seriously.

Tell him it was me.

  1. Thanks for the trade. It was cool to finally meet you in person. We'll have to go to another Doyer game this year.

  2. Nice card. But everytime I see a Chutley card, I think of how he could've been a Dodger .. that makes me sad.
