Redeeming An Artist's Proof of Kid K.

This card has been sitting around forever waiting to be scanned and written about. What took me so long? I picked it up along with a redemption and had hoped the redemption would be filled soon after making the purchase so I could post both at once. It's been over 8 months since redeeming the other card and still nothing. If you know who I collect and which of those players has had redemptions galore over the last year that are still lying in limbo, you know what I'm anxiously awaiting.

The card that will finally get its due is the above Artist's Proof /49 of Clayton Kershaw, numbered 24/49. It hails from 2011 Panini Playoff Contenders and was had for roughly a couple of bucks, if memory serves. Even though it's unlicensed, I really like the general design of the card.

  1. Nice design but the plain white uniform and the generic blue hat just scream the reason I don't collect Panini.

  2. Still a cool grab for your Kid K collection. When Panini does get an MLB license, I'm sure they will give Topps a run for their money (at least I'm hoping they will).

  3. thanks guys!

Scott- Yeah, those are definite drawbacks but there's a price-point where I'll consider pretty much anything.

Robert- I hope they do get a license, and soon.
