- The Dodgers couldn't capitalize on multiple opportunities to score. Sorry, my mistake, Joe Torre couldn't score, because with that shitastic lineup he put together, it should be expected that runs will be hard to come by.
- Matt Kemp batting behind Casey Blake and James Loney, for what must be the millionth time, is a dumb idea. A horrendous idea. An idea that would get a less seasoned/tenured manager in hot water with the local media and intelligent people in the front office. But no, Joe's got rings!!!! And he was great in New York, always made the right decisions, and we're winning, so he MUST be right!!! I mean, it's not like he ever batted a great hitter that low in the lineup before, so yeah, RINGS!!!!!! TROPHIES!!!!!
- Clayton Kershaw had a mixed night, striking out 9 but walking 4 and having a hellishly frustrating 2nd inning, when Arizona plated all 4 of its runs. Kershaw was getting squeezed a bit from my vantage point, Furcal has to catch Haren's relatively soft liner, and ground balls were just finding holes. But he's 21, so let's just enjoy what we have and hope the Dodgers do the wise thing and sign him long-term in the off-season.
- Manny was 3-4 with a double. He almost hit a couple out.
- Kemp reached base 3 times via a double, BB, and his 17th HR.
- Another opportunity to use Charlie Haeger, another mistake by Torre not going that route. What's a long-man for if he's not used in long-man situations?
