I completed my third trade with fellow Mike Piazza fan Mike from Sports Syzygy. You can check out the first here and the second here. I sent Mike a pair of Red Sox minor leaguers (one auto, one serial-numbered parallel) that I pulled from minor league products last year. In return, I was able to snag another sweet All-Star Game relic out of 2011 Topps Update, and it features one of my favorite non-Dodgers, Jay Bruce.
Mike also let me know he had a serial-numbered Bruce he'd send along, and it happened to be this extremely aesthetically-appealing blue parallel of Bruce's 2011 Topps Chrome card.
Some sick photography right there, and it's #'d 68/99. I clearly struggled to scan each of the three Bruces, so this is now officially the Trade of Crooked Cards. I also received the 2008 Update Bruce you see, and yes, I have often found myself saying "BRUUUUUUUUUCE!" when nobody is around to hear me.
Thanks for the trade Mike! Your cards are on their way!
Hey, that's me! Sorry that this trade took so long to get finalized. The last break was a rough one and I have a few piles of claimed cards that people never followed through on and the Bruce always seemed to get mixed in with those.
ReplyDeleteThat's not just any old version of the 2008 Update Bruce, it's the gold foil parallel. I don't think anyone actually chases these things, but I've got them all set aside for trades and stuff like that.
No worries Mike! And gold foil? Sweet! I had no idea haha. Parallels sometimes confuse me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your cards went out today!
Thanks again!
