Melting That Radiant Red Ice.

Sometimes a set comes out and you just know that no matter how hard you try money will soon be leaving your person. I knew that would be the case when I discovered that both Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw were included in the 2012 Bowman Red Ice parallel set, in which each card is numbered out of a scant 25. They've gone for a pretty penny, as you might imagine.

But thankfully, just about any card eventually has a straggler or two that sells for far too low. If you play your cards right, you can be the beneficiary of that aberration, and I thankfully found myself on the awesome end of a bargain with Kemp's Red Ice. These cards are magnificent in-hand, as they have a bit of a psychedelic/night sky feel to them when the light hits them just right. My copy - numbered 22/25....woo, to Kersh's number - ran me a handful of coins under half a blaster.

  1. I have the J-P Arencibia and...ugh...James Loney.

I won them from the same seller on ebay and tacked the Loney on as trade bait (01/25, or, EBAY 1 OF 1!!1) for ninety-nine cents.

...and now I cannot get rid of it.

  2. Wow, that looks nice! The red really works well with the bit of red on the Dodgers' uni, and with the blue as well. Good job picking it up for so cheap!

Roy- Still a good addition for bait. Try Night Owl.

Dennis- Thanks! And yeah, the red just pops.
