Matt Kemp has thankfully been prominently featured in numerous Allen & Ginter sets. More specifically, he can be found in many of the gorgeous on-card autographs we've seen from A&G each year. Matty didn't have any Ginter signatures in 2011, 2013, or 2014; hopefully 2015 Ginter will once again include the sought-after (by me, and that's all I really care about) John Hancock of The Bison.
I decided the first picture people see should be my favorite Mattycakes' Ginter auto: the 2010 iteration. That colorful border can't be topped, and 2010 Ginter is what cemented my return to collecting way back when. So, without further adieu, my Matthew Ryan Kemp Allen & Ginter Autograph Rainbow.
2008. Simple, and black borders are always great.
2009. Topps went with the exact same photo of Matt but cropped it to give us a close-up. Still, it's a pretty piece of cardboard.
2010. The best and it's not even close.
I even picked up a gimmicky '10 mini auto that had been removed from its frame before reaching my humble abode.
2012. Kemp's most recent Ginter graph, and the all-black border and great photo of a smiling Kemp posing on one knee while holding a bat is the cherry on top.
Wow, these are very cool! Thanks for sharing these!
ReplyDeleteAll awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThe shared borders with color-scheme variations of the 2008, 2009, and 2010 look so phenomenal laid out together. I'd say the floral, blue bordered 2009 is my favorite border but I really like Kemp's auto on both the 2010 and the 2012. Great cards.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Hope he continues to stay hot... unless of course he's playing against the A's or Padres.
ReplyDeleteThanks gents!
