Trade With Cardboard Conundrum: Good Getzlafs and A Champions' Crosby.

I completed my seventh trade with Matt from Cardboard Conundrum. You can check out the first here, second here, third here, fourth here, fifth here, and sixth here. Matt and I have both strayed towards the hockey card market this year, and this trade did not disappoint in terms of awesome hockey cardboard.

My favorite card of the lot I received - by far - is this this sweeeeet dual relic of my two favorite hockey players and two main hockey collections, Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan. Numbered 189/225, it hails from the phenomenal '11-'12 Panini Prime. It's an excellent addition to my Captain Getz Collection.

Before we get to the rest of the Getzlafs I acquired - and there are many more - here's something I've never shown off on the blog because I never had one to show off: a Sidney Crosby hit. It's a cool sweater swatch from 2012 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions. Matt had two of these and very graciously agreed to part with one. It's hard to be a hockey collector and not have some kind of Crosby hit, even though many of his antics over the years have been childish and unnecessary. He's still an elite talent, and I do collect the man drafted after him (Bobby Ryan). That, and Crosby was almost a Duck.

Back to my main man Getzy. A nice dual relic, numbered 112/125, fell out of the bubbler next.

There was one last Getzlaf hit in the package, the above beaut.

Finally, a couple of appreciated base cards to add to the collection.

Thanks for yet another phenomenal trade Matt!

  1. I love me some Prime, and if I wasn't as in to Dominion this year, I'd definitely be pouring more money into that set. The Certified card, by the way, is actually not a base, but a Hot Box parallel.
