The Perfect Clayton Kershaw Card, The Perfect Printing Plate.

I suppose this is like a Valentine's Day gift to myself even though this purchase occurred at some point in the second half of 2012. That's right, it was so long ago I don't even know the month it became mine. Nevertheless, it was a card I instantly had to have and knew I would end up spending way more money on than I should because of its sheer awesomeness.

Where to start? A Kersh 1/1, number three in my Kid K PC. It's a Yellow Plate, one of the best colors for plates. It's from a cool set in 2012 Topps Archives and features some aesthetically-pleasing font spelling out the name of the best southpaw in the game. Clayton is in floating head form and looking mighty intimidating, and last but certainly not least, it's a miiiiiiiinnnnnniiiiiii printing plate (not a mini plate, it was late, such is life).

Here's the plate in not extra-large form. Though I must say I do prefer it blown up to massive proportions. Because, well, because.

What would an awesome post be without a scan of the card back? An awesome post without a scan of the back of the card, that's what. I never noticed it enough to mention it when looking at the back of my other plates but the paper on the back matching the color of the plate is a nice touch.
