Commemorating Russell Martin's Last Days As A Dodger (On Cardboard)

Though Russell Martin is on his second post-Dodgers stop, I still love collecting his cardboard. So when I had the chance to snag a printing plate of Martin that was awesome on a number of levels, I jumped at the opportunity. For a bit over half a blaster, this amazing 1/1 is now mine:

The plate - the Yellow 1/1 of Russ' 2011 Topps Series 1 card - marks the 10th Martin Plate to enter my PC of the former Blue Crew backstop. It's a fantastic card all-around, with Russell about to throw out a Giant at first base. Catching gear is prominently displayed, there's a nice crowd shot, and it also happens to be one of the last pieces of cardboard to feature Russ in Dodger Blue.

The back, for those of you that are enthusiasts of such things. I also have to say that the Dodgers' logo in the bottom right on the front is awesome with the yellow hue removing everything but the baseball moving up and up.

  1. Apparently I'm into those things, though I have no idea why or where the predilection came from. Yellow is a nice hue, too.
    Nice looking plate, for sure!
