Trade With Cardboard Conundrum: An Orgy of Anaheim Ducks.

I recently completed my eighth trade with Matt from Cardboard Conundrum. You can review the first here, second here, third here, fourth here, fifth here, sixth here, and seventh deal here. Somehow we had not completed a trade since the end of 2012, but this amazing transaction more than makes up for that. You can see what I sent Matt's way here.

HOLY CRAP DAAAAAAAM. I had absolutely no idea this card would be headed my way and I didn't even know Matt owned this stunning beaut. The patch is just crazy and has 5-6 colors and a ton of character. It comes from the "D" on the front of the third alternate sweater Bobby's sporting and is numbered 29/40.

This particular Bobby John Hancock was one I had made a pass at, and I'm always happy to add on-card or on-fabric autos. It's numbered 28/99 and is a sweet addition to my PC of the number two overall draft pick and former Duck.

I inquired on the above Saku Koivu auto, and thankfully Matt was willing to part with it. It's just my second Saku autograph and this one brought along a jumbo sweater swatch to boot. It's numbered 28/49.

Next up, another Ducks' centerman in Nick Bonino. I loved the Bonino trade when it was consummated, and it's paid off quite well. This is my second or third signature of Bones; it's numbered 306/499 and is a rookie on-card sig as well.

Defenseman Mat Clark is up next, and this was another of the unexpected pieces of cardboard to pop out of the bubbler. It hails from my favorite hockey set, Dominion, and is numbered 05/73. That patch piece is just disgusting, and it comes from Clark's nameplate or number. Mat is likely to be moved in the near future as the Ducks are loaded on the blueline.

While this Showcase Swatches card of Corey Perry -- numbered 06/25 -- from Panini Prime didn't scan in terribly well, it's actually a really sharp card in-hand. There's a silhouette of Pears behind him and to his right, and the jumbo swatch itself is swell and encased.

This trade was so spectacular that a pair of brand new Ryan Getzlafs were pushed to the bottom of the post. The first of those new pickups comes from '13-'14 UD Artifacts and the Treasured Swatches subset. The gold piece is a really nice change of pace.

The second new card of The Captain hails from 2013-2014 Panini Titanium and matches Getzy up with former Duck Matthew Lombardi. It's numbered 237/300 and features a pair of plain white sweater pieces.

Finally, two serial-numbered cards. The Getz is /999 and the Koivu is out of 100.

Thanks for yet another phenomenal trade Matt! I greatly appreciate your generosity!

  1. Glad you were happy with them all. I didn't actually have the Bobby Ryan already, but I remembered you mentioned you were looking for one a while back, so I kept my eye open. My big fear, though, was that you'd be bidding for the same one, and one of us would end up costing the other one a lot of money. Luckily that didn't seem to be the case.
