I recently landed another affordable T206 from eBay. For pennies over the price of a blaster of your favorite new product I was able to secure the below vintage goodness with a super clean back in a spiffy SGC holder.
This John Hummel has a Sweet Caporal back and earned a grade of Authentic (I assume it must be trimmed). I love that the Brooklyn B is clearly visible and the team name is so boldly written down the front of Hummel's uniform. I'll take this over the aforementioned blaster any day of the week.

That’s a beauty! Nice colors. Looks like it just fell out of the cig box today.
ReplyDeleteThanks commish! It is in mighty fine shape!
DeleteAgree. Hummel had a really good year in 1911. His 58 RBI were second on the team to Future Hall of Famer Zack Wheat. He lead all NL second basemen in fielding percentage. In 2nd place was future Hall of Fame manager, Miller Huggins of the St. Louis Cardinals.
ReplyDeleteMy general feeling is anytime you're mentioned in the same sentence as Zack Wheat, you had yourself a good day.
DeleteDefinitely better than a blaster. Nice pickup.
ReplyDeleteGracias!
